Unable to Access Cliparts on Disk

P

Hi,

My new Dell desktop system is running Windows XP Professional, with the
Small Business package plus Access. It's come with a large number of
cliparts stored in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\CLIPART, but clip art
searches in the applications (like Word) only find a very small subset. It
seems as though something wasn't installed correctly.

Any one know of a way to fix this, please?

Thanks,

P

I belive clipart is not installed by default, and may have to be accessed on
the cd
I'm not sure how much clipart comes with Office SB as apposed to Office
Premium
You can access 'extra' clipart on line at MS

How many clips are in the \clipart folder? You can open Microsoft Clip
Organizer from your Office Tools folder on the Start Menu to see all the
clips Office knows about.

There are 1,644 cliparts in a folder named PUB60COR - using thumbnail view,
I can see lots of animals, for example. But when I do a clipart search for
"animals" within Word (or any other of the office applications) I only get
back three clips. I've been using earlier versions of these applications for
the past 7 years, so I kind of know what to expect.

hope you can help - thanks,

Pamela

Does the Small Business package include Publisher? The PUB60COR folder is
part of Microsoft Publisher. If it wasn't installed using the setup
program, its clips will not show up.

On the clip art task pane, there are two dropdown boxes, "Search for" and
"Search in". Are all of the checkboxes in each dropdown checked?
