unable to choose correct contacts folder

I recently got a new pc and imported my Contacts from Outlook 2002 to the new
pc w/Outlook 2003. Outlook (new version) shows "contacts from old pc" and
also "contacts" that is current and newly populated.

When in Word using Tools, Letters and Mailings, Mail Merge and get to the
point where it prompts me to "Choose Contacts Folder" only the Contact list
from the old pc mail is availabe to pick. I don't even see the current
Contacts folder I am using.

How can I see and select the newer, updated and current Contacts?

Thanks for your help.

If you initiate the mailmerge from Outlook, you will have more control.

I agree with that absolutely, but you can make the contacts list available
from Word by setting the contact list properties to show it as an Outlook
Address book.

Thank you both for the suggestion of doing the merge from Outlook instead of
Word. I'll take that advice.

However, now because it bugs me that I still can't select the proper
contacts list, I still want to figure it out. The properties for the newer
contacts list is already set to show it as an Outlook Address book. The old
one was too, so I unchecked that item but still there's no change. Any else I
can try? I can't seem to delete the old contacts list, but I don't know if
that's the right thing to do just yet.

Thanks again.
