Unable to Install Office over Works

T

Terry Gregory

My computer came with software set up including Microsoft
Works and Windows xp. I installed Office 2000 on top, and
stupidly threw away the Works documentation.
I have now had to restore the computer back to factory
set up and have installed Office 2000. It runs Powerpoint
and Excel no problem but keeps asking for the product
code for Word 2000 that it says came with Works and tells
me the product code is on the front of the Works
documentation. I can't uninstall Works as it does not
appear on the 'Add/remove' section of Control panel. Pe-
installed programs don't appear here.

Any suggestions?

Do you see Microsoft Word in the Add/Remove options? If yes, then remove
that and then try a maintenance reinstallation of Word from your Office CD.
