Unable to install upgrade of 2000

Help! I had to reformat my laptop and it wiped out my Office programs. I had
to find my discs and before I can install the 2000 upgrade, I have to have
the basic installed. I have my 97 pro disc but no longer have the key to
install it. I called the support line and they said they no longer support
that application. Does anyone have any clue how I can get either a key to
install or a work around for the 2000 upgrade to install?

You need to purchase a "Full Version" of
Windows XP Pro and perform a "Clean Install".
Then you need to purchase an "Upgrade Version"
of Microsoft Office 2003 and install it.

Did you try installing the 2000 upgrade and when it can't find the
qualifying product on your system, insert the Office 97 CD in the disk drive
and point to it?
