unable to load InfoPath form on browser

Hello,
I get the following error when I try to set a value to a field in Infopath
form in the code behind file using VSTA.
field1.SetValue(number.tostring())

Error:
Operation is not valid, because of the current state of the object.

Also, I am developing in InfoPath 2007 and is a browser enabled form.

Can anyone help me out with this?
