unable to open outlook window

I can not open outlook 2003 as I get the following message after a splash
screen.
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.Unable to open the Outlook window.
The set of folders could not be opened." I tried to repair outlook,
uninstalled and reinstalled outlook and keep getting the same error message.
Please help!

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
