unable to view slide show

when i press slide show button, it opens a new powerpoint
window instead of opening the slide show. I can run the
slide show in safe mode but not in normal mode.

Hi,

First, go to the Help menu and try "Detect and Repair". Else, what version?
It may be a problem with a customisation of the buttons.
