unassiged resource

I've never used Project's leveling capability. The other day, a co-worker was
trying to level resources. After Project rearranged the schedule, she notices
there were tasks appearing under an "Unassigned Resource".

This was a total mystery to me. Has anyone encountered this, and what do you
do about it?

They are probably summary tasks, which shouldn't have resources
assigned to them. They also should not have any work assigned, so
leveling should not affect them. Perfectly normal.

Thanks Sarah; I hadn't thought about that. It seemed to me that there were
hours assigned, but I'll check it out.
