Understanding tracking and leveling relationship - Project 2003

Hi

I started this project plan over a week ago - and some of the tasks
are listed with start dates of last week - I imagined when I choose to
"level" the resources it would naturally shift the start date of any
unstarted tasks to a date on or after today. Could anyone tell me how
I would achieve that?

Leveling only affects tasks with overallocated resources. What you need to
do is to reschedule uncompleted work from the past into the current
reporting period. Refer to the following FAQ for the steps:
