Unexplained changes in settings

J

Justin

Has anyone ever had a situation where the default
settings in word 2000 and/or word xp have changed from
one use to another. Let me give two examples

In both Word 2000 & Word XP the default view (ie outline,
normal or print layout) has changed between uses).

In Word 2000 when opening a file in word via the toolbar
and the file/open menu the listing of documents comes up
in a random pattern (certainly not a-z).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Justin,
In both Word 2000 & Word XP the default view (ie outline,
normal or print layout) has changed between uses).
USUALLY, this is acquired from the view in which the last
document closed was opened. So it can change each time you
restart Word.
In Word 2000 when opening a file in word via the toolbar
and the file/open menu the listing of documents comes up
in a random pattern (certainly not a-z).
Clicking on the header at the top of a column in File/Open
will change the sort order. It could be sorted by date, or
file type, or attribute...
