Uninstall Office 2000 & Install Office Professional XP

Frances Baumbach

I have CD's to install OPXP. I have an older version of
Office 2000 on my Windows 98 - without CD's to assist in
the updating of Office 2000.
How can I uninstall Office 2000 and install Office Prof XP
on my Windows 98. Am afraid to attempt without specific
directions.
My Office Professional XP has 3 disks - one with
Publisher. I have a lot of files created with Publisher.
Will this prevent me from working with them in the new
Office Professional XP Publisher?

For what it's worth, I just updated from Office 2K Pro to Office XP by
inserting the XP CD and letting it do its thing.

I was never asked for theOffice 2K CD's and the XP update is running fine.

Please be aware that, as it contains Publisher, it's OEM and, as such is
limited to installation on that system only and, once installed, will be
tied to that machine forever. No current retail version of Office XP
contains Publisher.
