uninstalling microsoft office

I recently had to restore my computer and when I did that it messed up my
microsoft office. I have gone into add remove programs and I cannot find
office in there to remove it. When I try to reinstall it says that I have to
go to microsoft updates to update my version. I went to the web site and it
said that there are no updates for my program. When I try to go into word it
says that this action is only valid for products that are currently
installed.

When you say "restore" do you mean 'system restore' (most likely) or that
you used the restore discs that were supplied with the system (unlikely as
you would be back to square one). Have you tried going back to a restore
point before Office was installed at all?
