Uninstalling Office XP for Students and Teachers

Jules

Hey everyone. I need your help (because Microsoft wants to charge me $50 to
get help from them). When I try to uninstall Microsoft Office XP for Students
and Teachers it keeps saying I need the CD-ROM, but I don't have it anymore.
It WILL NOT COME OFF MY COMPUTER! How do I uninstall it (and yes I've tried
Add/Remove program)?

Well I don't have the CD anymore...is there anything at all I can do, or is
this program just going to be on my harddrive permanently?

You could:
1. Borrow an Office XP CD from a friend (the CD must be the same
version as what is installed on your computer, not Office XP Standard or
Professional or Small Business),
2. Purchase a replacement CD (see
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326246 "How to replace lost, broken,
or missing Microsoft software or hardware"),
3. Back up your data files, format your hard drive, and reinstall
the software you actually own from the original CDs, or
4. Manually delete the Office XP files and related Windows registry
entries, at the risk of totally hosing your computer in the process.
