units

Hello, I would be grateful if you could clarify something for me. I have Task
xxxxx, fixed work, elapsed duration of 11.11d, start on 25/06/07 and finish
on 16/07/07, and I have a resource assigned to it working 100% units, for 2
hours. I reckon this is pilot tinkering as if I have a resource working for 2
hours, then it should be 2% units. Please confirm. I am grateful.
Thanks very much. J

Jackie,
Well the first thing I notice is that a task with a duration of 11.11ed
(i.e. elapsed days) does not span the period of June 25 through July 16.
Even if the the task duration is in normal working days, unless you have
several holidays during that period the start and finish dates should be
June 25 through July 10. I had to insert 4 days worth of holidays to get
the scenario you describe.

I'm not sure what "pilot tinkering" is but given the scenario you
describe, yes, the resource will end up at a unit level of 2%.

Does that clarify things?

Hi Jackie,

You can see this best from the Gantt Chart view, Windows/Split, select your
task in the top pane and see the data in the bottom pane, including the
Units.
