Unknown document type when sending email from Word 2003

I send a document from Word 2003 using "File-Send to-Mail recepient (as
attachment)", the document is attached to the message without .doc extension
and type of the document is unknown. If I send the same file from Windows
explorer using "File-Send to-Mail Recepient" it's attached correctly and has
Word document type.
