unpredicted switching between folders!

Mahmud

I have been encountering lately a very surprizing behavior
in Outlook 2002. When the preview pane is activated,
Outlook jumps back to the last viewed e-mail folder. This
disturbs me as I am reading my messages in the preview
pane. When the preview pane is not activated nothing
happens and I stay in the same folder. I use a pop3
account with an ISP, and this has never happened before.
Any help would be appreciated.
Best,
Mahmud.

Try resetting the view for that folder or does this occur in every folder?

Thanks Roady for helping,
In fact it happens with folders with the preview pane
activated. Let's say I am in the inbox, then I click on a
folder that has a preview pane, the moment I start reading
the messages in it in the preview pane, I am automatically
sent back to the inbox and lose sight of the message. and
I need to reclick the folder again. this happens over and
over until I switch off the preview pane. I even tried
detect and repair with no better result.
Thanks,
MS

Detect and repair won't help you here as the views are stored in the pst
itself. You could try running scanpst.exe against the pst file or create a
new pst-file with some test messages and see if it still happens in that pst
as well.
