Update a Field from Parent to subform.

Hello,
I have a Dispatching Db where it has a Parent form and a subform. both
have a "Status" Field.

what I want to do is when a dispatcher comesback I want to change the
Status Field to "close" in the parent and that affects the other
childs.

the reason why I want to do this is that when I go look thorouh each
child record in single mode I want to see their status.

I would appricate any help you guys can provide.
