Update Actuals from excel.

How do I set up a mapping to update actuals for an existing task? In other
words, In project I have a task called “Paint Roomâ€, and a resource named
“Bobâ€. On a spread sheet I have the task name and resource name ("Paint
Room", "Bob") and he performed 8 hours a day on 12/1, 12/2 and 12/3
respectively.

How should this data appear on the excel spread sheet and how would I map
this to the existing task on the project plan so I can update the project
task with the actuals?

Joe,
Perhaps I mislead you a bit in my earlier response. An import map cannot
be used directly to import timescaled data. The best you can do without
using VBA is to copy and paste the timescaled data from Excel to
Project. Be careful though because a direct paste may cause the data to
be inserted into non-working days on the Usage view.
