Upgrading from Home 2007 to Office Pro 2007

I would like to trial Office Pro 2007 (I would like to try Access 2007) on a
computer that already has Home 2007 installed. Can I later remove Office Pro
2007 without affecting my current Word/PowerPoint/etc 2007?

Thanks!

Sorry to disagree with you here Eric. If the OP has Office 2007 installed at present and he\she is going to install Office 2007 Pro he \she will not be able to get back to the present install of Office 2007 suites.

The OP will have to re-install his\her version of the Office 2007 that he plans to overwrite with his \her Office 2007 Trial

Hmm..

You got me second guessing myself.

If the office pro is only going to install Access and no other features then
her current install shouldn't be affected other then the shared files. I
would think that removing the Pro trial that doesnt share features with her
previous version would work fine.

Now I have to test!!

I will be back in a bit with the results and possibly a big plate of crow to
eat.

Ok.. I have repro'd this and after removing office 2007 pro trial, Office
home and student edition still worked fine. The important thing here is that
Windows detects both installs as seperate products. The Office pro trial will
not "upgrade" the home version, but in fact install side by side.

Here are my steps.

Installed Office 2007 Home and Student edition
Activated product.
tested. (worked fine)

Downloaded Office 2007 Pro Trial
Installed product (During install put all features to not available except
Access and tools and shared features)
Installing this way DID NOT upgrade. Windows sees office pro trial and
office home and student as two seperate products.
Activated the trial.

Testing word from Home edition, and Access from Pro trial edition. Both
worked as expected.

Uninstalled Office Pro Trial

Testing Word and Excel from the Home and student edition.
The Home and Student Edition still works successfully.

That is not the results that I had when I tried it quite a while ago.

Installed the Enterprise and then installed the Off Pro Trial. Granted it installed but on removal of the Trial the Enterprise versions of Word,PP,Access were all gone. Had to re-install from the MSDN disk to get them back up again
