What problems can one expect when upgrading from 98 to a more recent version
of Project. Currently I have difficulty reading newer files.
janniec,
Are you expecting problems? Granted, new releases of applications quite
often have their share of glitches but there have been 3 versions of
Project released since 98 (not counting the Professional and Server
versions). Everything basically works the same except for added
features. Depending on your needs you may or may not want to upgrade to
the latest version (2003). I personally find that 2000 has everything I
need, is very stable, and can read files created with alter versions.
Using Project 98 to read files created in later versions can be a
problem. The best bet is to upgrade although if the user who creates the
newer file saves it in Project 98 format you should be able to open it.
Keep in mind though that new features added in later versions will not
be accessible in Project 98.
Hope this helps.
