If you had read the system requirements prior to purchase, you would have
seen that Office 2003 will only install on NT systems, 2000 SP-3 or Windows
XP, either home or professional.
You can purchase Windows 2000 and bring it to SP-3 or later and then install
Office 2003 or you can purchase Windows XP Home or Professional. XP may
give you the better value as Windows 2000 will enter end of cycle support
much sooner than XP Also, you can purchase the Upgrade version of XP for a
lot less $ than 2000, if 2000 is even available at retail anymore.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Donna asked:
| I purchased Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 to
| install on my home computer and just realized a
| requirement was you must have Windows 2000 with Service
| Pack 3 or later. Now what? Must I purchase Windows 2000
| and then install professional? This seems crazy!!
