upgrading to Office XP Pro from XP Small Business

Dianna

No matter what I try I still seem to get the Product
Compliance Check error when I upgrade from Office XP
Professional from XP Small Business. The knowledge base
articles are not helping me. The end result is "setup
failed to locate a valid qualifying product"

Hi Dianna,

MS views moving laterally between packages in the
same Office version to be a crossgrade rather than
an upgrade. As the Office XP Small Business Edition
was an OEM (available on new PC only) edition) you may
want to contact the PC supplier to see what their practice
is on exchanging the XP SBE for the XP Professional Edition
OEM package.
