User login issues

B

Bryan

I have seen the posts about McAfee and XP SP2 but this does not apply to me.
I have XP SP2 and Symantec and have not seen anyone with the same issue with
Symantec.
The user cannot login with correct crentials, the login popup keeps
returning. If cancel is selected the home screen appears and login popup
will appear again. If cancel is selected again the page will feeeze and will
have to be closed through task manager.
I have tried the same user on a different computer within the office (using
XP SP2 and same company wide Symantec) and all worked ok.
This is happening on one computer only, all other computers are set up with
auto username and login and are working great.
Thanks for any help in advance,
Bryan

Check to see if the problem machine has a custom toolbar, such as Google,
installed. If so, remove it. Also, turn off Discussions if it is turned on
(View > Explorer Bar > Discuss).

Hi Bryan,

Do you have any information that differentiates your one computer from
the rest?

Is the computer on the LAN or VPNing to the network?
The the computer joined to the domain?
Is the user that is logging in to that computer, logging on the
domain or local computer?
Can the user of the computer successfully log in to PWA on another
computer?
Have the Trusted Sites been added for this user on this computer?
Have the IE security settings been changed on this computer?

Just a few questions ;-)
