Using headers and footers

john

Has anyone had a problem seeing the header/footer toolbar
in Office 2003 SB edition of Publisher 2003? When I am in
the Edit Master Page view I cannot select to view the
header and footer toolbar. I am able to select every
toolbar except this.

Thanks for any tips you have on this.

No issue at all, I just tried it again to make sure.

While you are on the Master Page right click and select Toolbars, then
Customise then tab Toolbar, and see if the Header and Footer toolbar is
selected.

Thanks for responding

Already tried that, though. When I do that, the header and footer box is not checked. When I try to check it, it just beeps at me and doesn't activate. It's almost as if either: 1) you aren't supposed to be able to use headers and footers or 2) there's something wrong with it

I would be more than open to another suggestion

Thank you again, John

Do you realise, you actually have to go to the menu VIEW then select 'Header and Footer' to get the Toolbar to appear.

However, this still does not account for the H & F Toolbar in Customise being inactive.

I'm jumping into this thread in the middle, so don't know what's already
been tried, but in Word you can't access the H&F toolbar for customization
unless you're in the header/footer pane, with the toolbar displayed, when
you open Customize. Does that make a difference?

Tried all those things. I've tried 1000 different ways to make it work. Guess this is just going to be chalked up to "find another way to do it".

Thanks all for trying to help.

Have you tried Detect and Repair from the Help menu?
