Using Infopath Disconnected

S

Suraj Guptha

We have hit a small road block is using Infopath forms. Since we made the
infopath decision instead of a web application so that someone with no
network access can save the form and send it back(very similar to how one
would use a word document). But when the Infopath XML is opened by someone
with no access to the network, it tried to connect to a manifest.xsf file.
The only workaround to this issue is by mailing the XSF file along with the
XML file, which I think is very un-elegant. Might you be able to help me with
this?

There are some ways to use InfoPath off-line.

It is better with 2007.

What version are you using.

Are you referring to browser based forms or rich client forms?

Browser based forms do not have the ability to go offline.

A rich client form does not have the ability to do this by default but you
can write code to programmatically test if the connection is available and
submit data only when the connection is active.
