using japanese character fonts in subject line box

Using OS windows xp home english and having added the japanese language, how
do I get the subject line of emails to accept japanese language fonts.

I have tried everything but while you can easily get the text of the message
in Japanese or Chinese, etc - the Subject Line remains in Western fonts on a
Western Based Machine.

If you have a Japanese copy of Outlook - then it works.

In Outlook Express - its easy - just cut and paste.
