using "out of office assistant"

Hi,
I am using Outlook 2000 with Exchange Server 5.5 on a
Citrix network. When I set an out of office message, it
does not reply to "outside" emails, only the interoffice
mail. Has anyone had this issue? I am assuming that when
using Out of Office, you do not need to leave Outlook
open, which would seem to defeat the purpose of being "out
of the office". Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The Exchange server has been configured not to return these items to the
internet. (Turning the option on can create mail loops.) The option is set
in the Internet Mail Connector.
