I posted earlier this week about sharing Outlook email on
two computers on a home network. Today I emailed Bob
O'Donnell of the O'Donnell on Computers radio show
http://www.everythingcomputers.com and he gave me some
advice on air.I have to figure out how to access the right
place in the Outlook program but what he said was this:
1. Go into the account settings on the main PC (in my
friend's case the desktop) and check that the default is
set to remove messages from the mail server.
2. On the secondary PC (the laptop) check that the laptop
is set up to LEAVE messages on the server.
3. Download email first on the laptop (the one set to
leave messages on the email server) then
4. Download email on the desktop.
5. Messages should then be on both 'puters.
I will try this when next I use my friend's network.
I hope this info might be of help to someone.
