Using the "favorites" button

I'm not sure if this is the right newsgroup, so please excuse me if it isn't
I just recently (finally) switched from Office 2000 to Office 2003. In
Office 2003, I don't see the "favorites" button in the "Open File" or "Save
As" dialog boxes. That is, it does not appear on left side of the dialog box
along with "Desktop", "My Documents", "My Computer", etc.
Can this be changed? Where is this explained in the documentation?
Thanks

Thanks. This worked. Is there also a way to get the favorites button to
show up in the analogous -- open or save -- dialog boxes in non-Microsoft
applications such as Adobe Acrobat or Eudora?
