Variance and Actual Start and Actual End Not Entered

Hi,

Is there any way to have the variance table reflect start and finish
variances for tasks which don't have actual start and finish dates?

For example, if a task was supposed to start on 12/1/2005 and it is
12/5/2005, I would like to have to the variance reflect the 4 day start
variance so that I know that technically this task is 4 days behind schedule.
This seems like a good view to have so I can see what my planned schedule
was vs. what is actually currently happening.

To do this you'll need to take a baseline when you are done originally
setting up your planned schedule. (Tools - Tracking - Save Baseline - choose
Baseline for the entire project). Insert the fields Start Variance and
Finish Variance. These fields show how much the planned start/finish varies
from the baseline start/finish of the task.
