Variance graph

hi,
I am looking to generate a planned vs. actual variance
graph (in Excel) for the % Complete column in Project. I
would like to use this metric to identify the delta in
progress for the project completion and identify schedule
slip. Can this be done through a wizard or other Project
interface? A VB script?

thanks,
Yaron.

Yaron,
Yes. Try the "analyze timescaled data in Excel" utility/add-in found on
the "Analysis" toolbar. It has an option for graphing the data. A second
approach that will give you complete control is to write your own VBA
macro.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I tried that by first saving a baseline, then
updating some % status in the project file. I then ranthe
timescale wizard on Cumulative % Complete and Percent
Complete fields. The graph shows all % values to be Zero
across the time span.

Not sure why that's not working?

What are you using as the status date? (set this by going to project menu /
project information / status date)
