Earned Value Question?

I’ve been working with the Earned Value Visual Reports template in Project
2007 Professional. When I create my schedule and enter my resources and costs
I save the initial baseline. As updates come in, I will enter the % complete
on each task, enter a status date then save. Then I go to reports, visual,
earned value and then I create the earned value report. What the report will
show me is if I ahead or behind my original plan.

For projects that are in progress (and behind plan) I’d like to be able to
see a revised planned value line graph for the remainder of the incomplete
tasks through project completion based on the current updated schedule. Is
there a way to be able to produce this line graph? Would it involve saving
the current schedule as a new baseline? What I really want to be able to see
is whether the project is progressing according to the revised plan from this
point forward. Can you let me know if this is possible and how?

You will have to do some manual adjustments. In effect, you have to save a
new Baseline1 from the status date forward. Then, your graph needs to show
Basline up to the Status Date and PV from Baseline1 after that date.

The Visual Reports will not do that "Out of the Box" but with some effort
you can make the adjustments in Excel, modify your template to include
Baseline1 as an output to Excel
