VB Error on opening plans

S

Steve Scott

When i try to open my Master plan and sub-projects as read only it gets so
far then brings up this message and i cant go no further.

Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108)':

Method 'OutlineShowTasks' of object ' _MSProject' failed

But when I open the plans as 'not read only' they open up without the error
message. Do you know why it would do this, or if there is anything I can do?
I don't know which project is stopping it.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this problem.

Steve,
That's an interesting one. First, what version of Project (including any
updates) are you using? Second, what version Project files are you
opening? Third, are there any auto-run type macro attached to either the
master or subprojects?

You can check for auto-run macros by going to Tools/Macro/Macros and
then selecting the VB Editor. When the editor opens, display the Project
Explorer. Find the VBAProject (your project name) and double click on
the "ThisProject (your project name)" under it. If some code shows in
the code window, then have an auto-run macro that you may or may not
want.

Hi Dalia,

This newsgroup is specifically for matters dealing with Microsoft Project.
I suggest you try to find a more appropriate newsgroup that deals with
Office problems.
