Vertical table text prints with left edge missing

Jamie Fraser

Hi,

I use a lot of tables in Word 2000 SR-1 with text in the
vertical direction. This is so they fit into a generally
portrait document.

If I fill a table cell with text, i.e. the text spills
onto the last visible line in the cell, then when the
table is printed, the left edge of the text is missing. It
is approximately half a letter's width. If the cell is
made slightly bigger then the problem seems to disappear.

The text looks OK on the screen, it is just when it is
printed. Can anyone help?

Jamie

Which way is the text rotated? That is, are you losing half a line at the
top or the bottom? Or is it at the left edge of the text as it is read? In
which case, is that the top or the bottom of the cell?

It seems very bizarre that making the cell *wider* would make a difference
when it appears that it is the *height* of the cell (width of the rotated
text) that seems to be inadequate. Is the row height set to Auto or At Least
rather than Exact?
