Video not working Powerpoint 2003

Vijay

Whenever I try to play video in PPT 2003, it jumps all over the screen, and
then goes black. The audio works fine.

This problem only occurs on my laptop - it works fine on other computers.

I've tried http://www.echosvoice.com/tshoot_video2.htm, but as it is a work
computer, cannot try most of the suggestions.

If anyone knows how this can be solved --- PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks.

If it helps, I'm running XP, on an HP Laptop, with an Intel Graphics
Accelerator.

Since you cannot try out all the suggestions on Echo's site, you might find
it difficult to isolate and correct the problem.

Does this happen with a particular video format (MPG, AVI, WMV) or with all
video formats? Also does this happen with all videos?

You might also want to make sure that your video card driver is updated.

This problem happens with AVI and MPG (the format I'm trying to use).
I tried WMV files and they stalled PowerPoint 2003when I tried to insert them!

I've also tried playing the files on mplay32.exe without any problems.

Could it be a graphics accelerator problem?

Much thanks for the help so far...

You might want to explore the graphic driver option and get back - also does
this happen with a particular presentation, or with all presentations?

Problem solved - the friendly folks at I.T. slowed down the hardware
acceleration, and it worked!

They have suggested it may have something to do with needing to update
Direct-X.

In any case, thank you for your responses. I doubt I would have continued
without that enouragement.
