View &gt

What does View &gt mean (I saw this as part of an answer in an earlier
discussion group response)? I see these abbreviations all the time and don't
know what they mean. Is there a reference sheet that I can look at?

You probably saw it in one of my replies. It's my shortcut for an arrowhead to
indicate the next item to be selected, usually on a menu or in a dialog. In
other words, go to View and then go to Normal would be View > Normal. Others
use - - View | Normal.

Hm. I wonder if something odd is happening with the web interface you're
accessing this group from. Can you give me a link to the page you use to
read this newsgroup?

Echo,

It's a Mac thing. On my Macintosh at work (OS X, Safari browser) and my
Mac at home (OS 9, Netscape browser), the greater than signs get turned
into &gt. Other special characters also get changed (including quotes).
It makes it very annoying to read the newsgroup on a Mac through the
Web. This started happening fairly recently, so Microsoft must have
changed something.
