Can some explain to me how to easily display the latest updates to my project
plan to upper management viewers. They can look at the task and see this has
been updated since the last version

How about inserting a text field, such as Text1 and put a date in it or just
an indicator? Or, you could use a Flag field and change that to "true" when
the task is updated.

Just remember to clear them all out next time you update the file. You need
to reset everything.

You could also save a pre-update snapshot of the start/finish dates as an
interim plan, then develop a filter which would show any task with a variance
from the interim plan.

This would show any task which has changed as a result of the updates.

There is a write up on the projectexperts website that explains how to setup
a task update compliance view on the resource page that has been very helpful
for us.
