Visio 2002SR1 Wall Shapes Disappear While Placing

While working on a space plan, I am unable to see the Wall
shape when dragging it from the Wall, Shell and Structure
stencil. While still dragging (the invisible wall shape)
across the drawing page, the X and Y coordinates read +
or - hundreds of millions of feet for a starting and
ending point. If I drag close to another wall, the wall
shape I am trying to place re-appears with more reasonable
start and end coordinates. Also, if I turn off Snap, this
disappearing behavior stops and the wall seems to act
normally. Any ideas?
