Visio 2007 Connector Arrowheads

I have recently installed Visio 2007. When connecting shapes with a
connector I cannot get the arrowheads to automatically insert. I have gone
into FORMAT, LINE and selected an arrowhead at the end of the line, but then
when I create a connector a plain connector appears with no arrowhead on it.
This happens whether I create the connector by inserting it myself or whether
I use the Autoconnect feature. If after I create the connector I right click
on the connector, select format, line and select an arrowhead it appears, but
I would prefer to have the arrowhead appear when I create it. In 2007, how
do you make the arrowhead appear while creating them instead of after the
fact?

If you want to make the arrowhead as the default condition, you can do the
following. First, make sure you know which arrowhead "number" that you
desire to use. You can go to menu bar > Line Ends icon > More line ends...
and see the number next to the arrowhead type. Second, go to menu bar >
shapes icon > scroll down to the bottom > Show Document Stencil. The stencil
should contain the Dynamic Connector. This is the master for your document.
Visio made this copy the 1st time you used it, and it is what determines each
connector placement in your document. Double click the connector to edit it.
Select it, and then open it's shapesheet. Scroll to the Line Format
section. There are two entries, BeginArrow and EndArrow. Most likely, there
will entries like THEME("ConnectorEnd"). Highlight the entire entry and
replace it with the number, e.g., 13, that corresponds to your arrowhead.
Close the shapesheet. Close the Dynamic Connector page. Say yes to
updating. That's it. From now on, the arrowhead will be the default
configuration for this document.
