I am interested in learning how to use Visual Basic in
conjunction with MSP 2000. I do not have any resources
($$) for classes. Can anyone recommend any books or free
on-line sites.

Thanks.

You can look at my site. I have some examples and a brief description of how
to use macros.
The project visual basic help is also instructive and has some examples you
can look at.
Finally, using the macro recorder to generate VB code is an excellent way to
get familiar with the object model.

Hi Marian,

On the msnews.microsoft.com server, try the microsoft.public.project.vba
newsgroup as you are more likely to get an answer there.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)

I'm also a VBA novice, trying to teach myself as needed.
I agree with Jack D.'s reply - all the sources he
recommended have been helpful to me. I've also gotten a
lot of tips by just browsing these newsgroups (Project,
Project 2000, and Project VBA).

There's also a book I've found helpful: Mastering VBA 6 by
Guy Hart-Davis. I found it in Borders for about $40, but
you might be able to get it at Amazon or somewhere else
for less.

3.5 years ago I began coding in Microsoft Project 98 VBA after about 2.5
years of coding in Microsoft Excel VBA only. My transition to Project VBA
code was made much easier by using the Microsoft Project 98 VBE (Visual
Basic Environment) course manual. I just checked a minute ago, and it is
still available for free download the following link:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/project98/info2/1/WIN98/EN-US/prj98vbe.exe

Even though you are wanting to learn Project 2000 VBA specfically, you will
find many of the Objects, Properties, and Methods in Project 98 VBA are the
same. I would recommend that you start with this course manual, and along
the way, read the help screens in Project 2000 VBA, looking for differences.
This will also help you to prepare for Project 2002 VBA and beyond. Hope
this helps.

Seconded. You should definitely start with that. It is probably the best
free reference on learning Project VBA.
