Dan Ackermann

Hi all,
What's going wrong if I cannot display .jpg files in Word 2000 SP3
(Insert/Picture/from File) just get the border with a red X as picture.

Any help is highly appreciated.

TIA

A bit of clearification, it has to do with the format of the .jpg file.
If .jpg is saved in cmyk mode, display is not possible in word.
If .jpg is saved in rgm mode all works fine.

Has any1 an idea, how to fix this ???
(Saving all my .jpgs in rgb mode is not the solution ! :))

TIA

Hi Dan,

The filter in Word does support CMYK JPEGs but you
may have an encoding issue or if you save it as a
progressive JPEG.

Are you using Insert=>Picture=>From File and immediately
getting the Red X or getting the Red X in older files,
possibly created in older versions of Word?

Does your copy of Office/Word 2000 have all updates?
