Wait while Windows configures MS Office Project Std 2007

I have downloaded and installed a trial version of Project Std 2007 on a
Windows XP workstation running MS Office 2003 Std. The installation
completes, I reboot and log in as the Administrator and everything is fine.
I log in as the power user and a dialog box will appear from time to time:
"Please wait while Windows configures MS Office Project 2007". "The
configuration changes made to MS Office Project Standard 2007 will not take
effect until your computer has been restarted. Would you like to restart
now?" Restart the computer and the messages will appear again. Any ideas as
to what is causing this to happen?

Thanks!

Hi CB,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

No :( You could try reinstalling Office and then Project.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Unless I misunderstand the sequence of events as you describe them, the
reason is that you will have to have administrative privileges to install
Project in the power user account. If you log in as the power user but run
the installer as an administrator, all should work well for you. My guess is
that part of the install job has to manipulate some files that requires an
administrator's security level.

Hope this helps,
