Want to use Cell content as reference filename.

Excel 2002 SP-2
I will get files from others. Their filenames change every month.
I want to MATCH to columns in these files.
The reference field of the MATCH functions has to include the filename.
Therefore I want to put the filename in a cell and have it used in the
various MATCH functions.

Check out the INDIRECT function in Help. If that isn't sufficient, Google for
INDIRECT and you'll find lots of examples.

Hi

INDIRECT doesn't work with closed files. So OP has manually to open the
source file every time, when he changes the file name in link.

Or he writes some VBA procedure to edit link(s) (or uses ReplaceAll to do
this), or writes/finds some UDF capable to read data from closed Excel files
(one such UDF is been several times mentioned on Excel NG's, but I don't
remember it's author), or he will use some standard source file name, and
renames sent files one-by-one with this name to link them with his table.
