Watermark--Still too dim. Can I get picture 100% color?

I have a picture (png for now, but tried other formats). I have inserted as
bookmark; Clicked off "Washout" and still the pict looks 80% dimmed.

Any idea how to get picture to view and print at 100% color?

Thanks,

je

If you don't want it dimmed, then don't click Washout, which is designed for
watermarks.

Suzanne,

I appreciate the quick response, however I have clicked off the washout
button.

I have even tried it with other pictures and on both my Office XP and Office
2004, same results.

Even with the washout button checked off, the picture still dims.

Thanks,

Hi Johnny,

With the picture selected,
you can use the brightness and contrast controls
in either the Picture toolbar or in Format=>Picture
to adjust the picture quality but if it's a watermark
then it is in the header/footer layer in Word and while
you're typing in the text entry layer anything in
the header/footer layer will be dim on screen, but
should print the way you've modified the graphic.

Bob,

That works. Once again your help was invaluable.

It was a case of perception. Thanks for the hand-holding. I was pulling my
hair out.

Peace,
