Way to protect PowerPoint content?

Is there a way to "burn" copyright and author info onto the bottom of a slide
so that it cannot be taken off by someone who downloads a slide from a
website?

You could place it as a water mark in the background image, but a good
photoshop user can remove just about anything.

Not really.

You could create an image for your slide background and put that info in the
image. Then go to View/Master and use Format/Background/Fill Effects/Picture
to insert the background image on the slide master.
