WBS Rollup Problem

I have defined WBS levels for my Project activities using a text column.
When I filter on WBS 1.4, the costs roll up for all activities with WBS 1.4,
but not for subordinate (indented) tasks with WBS 1.4.1, or 1.4.2, etc.
Any help appreciated.

I guess I'm a little confused. What do you mean costs don't roll up for
a filtered set? A filter has nothing to do with roll up. What exactly
are you expecting to see?

Just as an aside, is Tools/Options/Calculation tab set for automatic
calculation?
