I know the first thing I will hear is not to use Word for Web Design,
but...textbooks are published for just this purpose and that is how I was
taught in college to do general Web page/site design. Having said that, I am
trying to put together a site--or at least a site design template--with Word.
All of the links are working within a frameset and the default frame for all
hyperlinks is 3. The problem arises when navigating within the site using
Internet Explorer is that once I use the back button the links all open in
new windows rather than in frame 3. If I do not use the back buttons the
links open the way they should. Easy...don't use back...only if we put this
site live, we have no control over someone pushing the back button. The 2nd
issue is I have also included a control button on some pages, which I have
tried to hyperlink to the previous page. This works fine in Word, but not in
Internet Explorer. Any help would be appreciated.
Again, I have been told that Word is not really for Web design, but I am
trying to get something that is functional...or at the least a definate
design and navigation plan to take to a professional designer. I also think
that if Word is not for Web design, then maybe textbooks on the subject
should not be sold to unsuspecting persons who think the program can be used
for what colleges are teaching it can be used for.
