webbased outlook WITHOUT Exchange

Not Outlook Web Access, but your ISP may offer webmail. There are also a lot
of companies who offer hosted Exchange - and now that we've all been through
the Blaster scare, they seem to be offering more in the way of network
security!

thanks, but what is a "hosted exchange"?

i have my own domain and have webmail through network
solutions or whatever their new name is. the problem is
thats only for mail. I'm looking to access my mail along
with my calendar and also for mail to apear within
outlook folders as on my pc. any advice?

You would need to look into a third party "Hosted Exchange" solution - see
www.intermedia.net for one option, although there are others. They will host
your domain's mail on their Exchange server, and this will give you Outlook
Web Access as well as let you access your mailbox using Outlook and
synchronize to an offline folder as well.

Would the above be a good viable option to learning how
to use Exchange and administer it..... vs buying it
outright for the same reasons.... i.e. learning
Exchange?
