WebPress, CMYK & True Black

R

Richard Cincotta

I am a publisher of a monthly catalog and my WebPress now
wants my catalog digitally. Apparently when I save a
document the color we see for black on screen is comprised
of all the colors of the spectrum. This is not what my
printer is looking for. How do I turn off all the colors
leaving only black for the text?

Fustrated and confused!

This sounds like nonsense on the face of it, but I can just barely see how
it might be the case if the document were formatted for a color printer that
uses a single cartridge and therefore mixes colors to create black. I can't
think of any other explanation. You might try formatting for a different
printer (such as a monochrome laser). But that's nonsense, too, since the
document doesn't include any information about the printer selection.
