website photograph quality in publisher

I have cut and paste a number of good quality JPEG pictures into my publisher
document, but when I come to run a "web page preview" the quality of the
picture is very poor - what am I doing wrong? Any ideas please?

Yes I am. Which way of shrinking JPEGs before inclusion in Publisher has
worked best for you? I have a choice of Photoshop Elements and Microsoft
Picture Manager.

And thanks for the prompt reply Don, it's mid afternoon here in England but
I guess you are an early riser.

Hi

I have used Photoshop Elements with success for doing websites on Publisher
- I have several small clubs that I do sites for. Try using the "resize"
function to bring the photos down to a smaller size so that you don't have to
resize them in Publisher.

I have a problem with Publisher - how do I make the sites more compatible
with netscape and firefox browsers - It works fine with explorer, but not the
other two

The true answer is that the current version of MSIE is not standards
compliant. You need to code for firefox/mozilla/netscape first, and then
make adjustments for IE. Hopefully the new IE7 will be better.

If you check your work with the validator it will help you find problem
areas. If you eliminate all the problems the validator flags, most
markup will work with all browsers.
